Currently working with their Infrastructure/Structured Cabling product to train technicians and advising customers on upgrades and demands on their networks. Also handled all of the VoIP deployment, hosted and managed and did network cabling.

I am currently running crew of 4-5 technicians at Chesapeake College Wye Mills, MD for their additions and basic network upgrades. We are running fiber (OSP manhole to manhole) also to connect various buildings on campus. Also doing all camera and door access cabling and installation along with Voice and Data using fiber, Coax and Cat6a cabling.

 

11/13-8/15/14     Lead Technician/Team Lead:  KCI Convergent Technologies

 

Performed installation and maintenance of all Cat 5e, Cat 6 shielded, fiber and POTS and ISDN service. Handled all walk thru’s for cable placement and large moves at Northrup Grumman in MD. Represented KCI on various conference calls and meetings for access (SCIF), facility and progress on projects. Work directly with Northrup Grumman PM’s and various Directors and VP’s to fine tune deployment on NG’s end and KCI’s end to hit all preset goals and other quality specifications. Ran night team to get Methods and procedures in place for NG 3 year project of upgrading their entire network to Cat5e/Cat6/Fiber for Gigabit capabilities.

 

 

07/07-3/8/13Electronic Service Technician Instructor/Network Data Cabling on behalf of Henkels & McCoy at Job Corps (Dept. Of Labor), Woodstock, MD

Trained and mentored youth in all aspects of telecommunications including, but not limited to, cable/computer installation, surveillance equipment installation and cable repair. Certified students in installation and termination of Cat 3, 5 and 6 cabling and jacks. Also trained and certified them in BNC, RG-58, 59 and RG- 6 Coax cabling and connections. Trained students on 66,110 and Krone blocks and terminations. Maintained Cisco VoIP network and did all MAC on Center. Also handled all OSP/ISP on campus for Department of Labor (DOL). Managed trouble tickets through various Dept. of Labor operating systems (Citrix, Remedy, CISCO VoIP). Certified instructor for OSHA 501 (General Industry). 

 

Accomplishments

·   Developed curriculum for the Electronic Service Technician/Network Cabling Class, which is now considered one of the most successful programs at Job Corps/Woodstock and throughout the United States.

·   Improved EST grade average from a “D” program to a “A” program making it the top trade program offered at Woodstock Job Corps

·   Developed relationships with employers such as Comcast, Decisive Cable, US Army and H&M Networks to place students in full time positions.

Responsible for full life-cycle sales of telecommunication services to include sales calls, as well as presentation of communication plans such as voice and data to meet the client’s needs. Coordinated the lighting of buildings with fiber depending on company’s ROI. Handled all pertinent vendors and managed Sales expectations.  Assisted with cut-overs due to my extensive RBOC/CLEC technical experience.

Worked directly with Information Systems, Security and various Medical Departments in the monitoring and maintenance of numerous Operating Systems used within St. Joseph Medical Center and its affiliates.  Provided customer service to both clinical and operational areas of the hospital.  Reacted to urgent situations in real-time throughout the hospital campus.

Managed accounts for XO Communications, Winstar and Sigma. Negotiated contracts with Level3 Corporation and managed ten (10) telecom technicians in the installation and troubleshooting of various telecommunication products. Responsible for all new business.

 

08/98-11/00Operations Manager/Provisioning Manager, Network Access Solutions (NAS) now Megapath, Herndon, VA

Recruited by NAS from WorldCom to establish presence in the then-Bell Atlantic footprint with DSL co-location builds, virtual, physical, etc. for the NAS IPO. The company is now Megapath who still uses this network.  Responsible for the hiring of telecom technicians in the Bell Atlantic footprint.  Selected DSL equipment and managed central office build-outs, dealing directly with the testing of the DSL lines. Oversaw the installation of 500 Central Offices in the Verizon footprint. Handled regulatory for all loop provisioning and physical installs at all co-locations.  Also assisted the provisioning manager in circuits with the RBOC and CLEC.

 

04/92-08/98Sales Engineer/Operations Manager MFS/WorldCom, Baltimore, MD

Worked directly with outside sales and pre-/post- sales applications.  Was instrumental in working directly with Bell Atlantic/Verizon and MFS operations for bringing alternative telecommunications to the Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia markets.  Technical Consultant/ liaison between Sales and Operations, assisting with applications and the installation of same.  Operations Manager (Local Switch Deployment) - worked directly with Sales for installs, installation of IDLC and lighting buildings.  Dispatched Technicians in MD, DC and N. VA.  Operations Manager (Maintenance) - On call 24/7 in the supervision of fifteen (15) maintenance and installation technicians for Philadelphia, PA, Richmond, VA, MD, Northern VA and Washington, DC.

Selected from the top two percent of the U.S. Military to serve for three (3) years in a joint service agency.  Responsibilities included working a secure switch at the White House.  Traveled world-wide in advance of, and during, trips by the President, First Lady, Vice President and the Secret Service to establish PBX, radio and satellite communications to world leaders.  Held a TS/SCI clearance.

Supervised an eight (8) man crew on the installation of high- and low-pressure gas mains, as well as aerial and outside telephone plants, in DC, MD and VA. Also supervised the installation of utility duct line and manhole construction and placement.
